Jeremy A. Sabloff (Ph.D. Harvard University) is the Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor of Anthropology, Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania and External Professor and Past President, the Santa Fe Institute. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Philosophical Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Society of Antiquaries (London), and the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences. He is the author of numerous books, including "Archaeology Matters." His principal interests include Maya archaeology, the development of complex societies and cities, archaeological theory and method, and the history of American Archaeology.
