The Heritage Education Network is pleased to welcome the Ancient Art Archive as its newest Affiliated Organization member!
The mission of the Ancient Art Archive is to document and share ancient rock art through photography, 3D modeling, immersive digital experiences, and educational programming.
Recently, the Archive published its first book, titled Rock Art: An American Story. This 160-page coffee table book takes readers on a visual journey across the United States through the stunning rock art photography by National Geographic photographer Stephen Alvarez. The book also features essays and reflections by Indigenous writers, tribal leaders, and archaeologists, including former Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Choctaw archaeologist and THEN Board member Joe Watkins, Tlingit writer and editor Kate Nelson, and many other fascinating contributors.
