The Annotated Bibliography is a searchable database of heritage education references for professionals as well as a listing of resources for educators and the general public. The Annotated Bibliography contains books, journals, magazines, newsletters, classroom materials, videos, blogs, and websites.
While accessible and usable by members and nonmembers, only members of THEN may contribute to the Annotated Bibliography. The article discusses the complex relationship between traditional beliefs and heritage preservation. Within the Tallensi communities of Tengzug, Ghana a study proved that intangible elements are also considered to be heritage and need to be preserved. Concepts like this should be considered when crafting heritage education programs, as heritage is not just physical places or objects.

2001     Through Their Eyes: The Meaning of Heritage Site Experiences to Visitors Who Are Blind of Visually Impaired.. Journal of Interpretation Research, 6(1): 31-47, The National Association for Interpretation

Telephone interviews were conducted with 40 residents of Indiana to assess their experiences with heritage sites. The study found that meaning was assigned to heritage sites based on their accessibility for those with visual impairments. This article discusses the use of social marketing in both consumer and supplier nations to combat the illegal antiquities trade. The authors focus on Heritage Watch, a Cambodian organization that has used social marketing to reach a diverse audience and promote responsible tourism. The article discusses heritage materials that were produced for the public to prevent future looting of Cambodian sites. Heritage Watch has future plans to focus on schools and young people. These efforts can be used as a guide to create programs that will protect heritage on a global scale.
