The Annotated Bibliography contains books, journals, magazines, newsletters, classroom materials, videos, blogs, and websites.

2014     Rethinking History, Conserving Heritage: Archaeology and Community Engagement in Ifugao, Philippines. The SAA Archaeological Record, 14(5): 12-17, Society for American Archaeology
This article describes the Ifugao Archaeological Project, which began in 2012 and involved collaboration with Ifugao communities to excavate, present, and discuss findings. The authors describe the benefits of working with a community, including the reinforcement of community identity. Public debates about heritage have been able to bring various communities together and the authors hope their findings will lead to a changed history curricula.

2002     Reticulum Project – museum-based learning for children: an innovative approach to the Romans in Northern England,The. Internet Archaeology, Issue 12, Department of Archaeology (University of York)
This 8-part article describes "The Reticulum Project," a collaboration between teachers at the First Schools in the Blyth Valley, Northumberland and The Museum of Antiquities at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. This project uses the Museum resources to teach children about life in the North of England during the Roman period. The authors describe the types of involvement the children had with Museum staff and collections. They also describe the planning of the project, including its associated website and CD-ROM, as well as a sample lesson plan.

In this article, the authors describe the Society for American Archaeology workshop on teaching archaeology held in February 1998. Twenty-four archaeologists discussed the need for courses that prepare students for jobs, including training in ethics, preservation, and working with or presenting information to the public. The workshop participants defined six principles for curricula reform and then worked as smaller groups to fit these into the curriculum for different levels of education (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate).

The article discusses the Massie School heritage education program for K-12 students in Savannah, Georgia. The school is a historical and architecturally significant building in Savannah's National Historic District, and is currently the home of the Massie Heritage Interpretation Center. Beginning in 1977 the program was available to all schools in the area and had instructional units on Massie's history, architecture, and a museum exhibit.
